Assistant Professor– Physician Assistant Studies Program Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, founded in 1823, is a coeducational college offering graduate, professional and undergraduate degrees in the health sciences. As a private and independent institution with a long and distinguished history, the College provides traditional and non-traditional programs of study that serve the needs of the community. With campuses in Boston and Worcester, Massachusetts and Manchester, New Hampshire, the College enrolls approximately 3,200 students, who are drawn from 35 states and 34 foreign countries, and employs over 300 faculty and staff. The College is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor – PA Studies at its Worcester, MA branch campus. This is a full time, 12-month appointment. The incumbent will report to the PA Studies Program Director. In consultation with the PA Studies Program Director and Assistant Director, faculty at the Worcester campus teach across all courses and coordinate didactic courses in the PA Studies curriculum. Key responsibilities will include engaging in teaching, scholarship, and service activities, and participating in the development, initiation, and incorporation of instructional experiences. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include NCCPA certification; eligibility for New Hampshire and/or Massachusetts licensure; minimum of three years of full-time physician assistant clinical practice experience; prior experience in PA education; graduate degree in PA studies or a related field. Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Individual will participate in teaching and coordinating across all didactic courses in the PA Studies curriculum. Responsibilities include engaging in teaching, scholarship, and service activities; participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum; participating in the development of learning experiences, developing learning objectives; recruiting qualified applicants; providing supervision and advising to students; serving as small-group facilitator; and other duties as requested. Candidates should have an interest in learner-centered graduate education, in engaging students to share in their responsibility for learning, in educating and promoting future physician assistants, and in working well as an integrated team member. Faculty will work one day weekly in a clinical position. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include NCCPA certification; eligibility for New Hampshire license; minimum of three years of full-time physician assistant clinical practice experience and graduate degree in PA studies or a related field strongly preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants in the process of completing a master's degree and have prior teaching experience. Preferred qualifications include: an earned doctoral degree or progress toward a doctoral degree; prior experience in PA education; prior experience with curriculum development; experience using technology to enhance learning; demonstrated excellent communication, time management, and organization skills; ability to work independently and as a team member; and commitment to maintaining high professional standards.
