Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Assistant/Associate Professor-Physician Assistant Studies MCPHS
Applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor-Physician Assistant Studies at the Worcester campus. Faculty teach across all courses in the PA Studies curriculum and engage in scholarship and service activities. Specific responsibilities include teaching courses in area(s) of expertise as assigned; providing supervision and counsel to students; participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum, as well as the development and incorporation of instructional experiences that utilize state-of-the-art distance education technology; establishing and monitoring clinical affiliation sites and agreements; preparing and implementing grants and contracts; recruiting qualified applicants; pursuing a personal program of scholarly activity; performing service activities that advance the program and the profession; assessing clinical education for continuous quality improvement.
Minimum qualifications include NCCPA certification; eligibility for NH and/ MA licensure; minimum of three years of full-time physician assistant clinical practice experience; prior experience in PA education; graduate degree in PA studies or a related field. Applicants who are in the process of completing a master's degree with qualifications beyond the minimum, especially with previous teaching experience, will be considered. Applications from M.D.'s and D.O.'s will also be considered. An earned doctoral degree or in progress toward a doctoral degree is desired, as is five or more years of clinical experience; prior teaching experience in a PA program or at the graduate level; experience in distance education technology; prior experience with curriculum development; and licensure if a physician.
